rust protection on headers

hi, just finished fabricating my own set of headers for my hilux. whats the most effective coating i can get done on them to prevent them from rusting. Even the heat proof paint u can by still does burn off. cromeing would be nice but a bit pricy. ive heard nickle plating will still rust? any ideas thanks

Ceramic coating is the best.

Not necessarilly cheap but it doesn't fall off and is pretty impact resistant.
I've bottomed my headers out on the front diff and no chipping or damage to the ceramic coating.

I'd highly recommend it.
