Hi I am in the progress of replacing my 2LT motor in my Toyota Bundera (LJ70) with a 1UZ. I bought the motor with the Auto still attached and I am not using it so I was wondering how do you remove it from the flywheel?

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew,

You need to remove the inspection plate between the "ears" at the rear of the sump. 2 x 12mm bolts.

You then need to turn the engine over until you can access the torque converter bolts. Remove one at a time and rotate the engine to get at the next one. There are 6 torque converter bolts.

Be warned the heads of the bolts are not all that tall so it's easy to round one off if your not careful. Once you've rounded one off you will have a real battle on your hands.

Once the 6 bolts are out remove the bellhousing bolts and slide the trans off the engine.
