New to this site

I am new to this site and also i just bought my first honda it's an 88 civic sedan, i got it pretty cheap mostly for a project car, its got a lot of miles on it 285,000 but it was really well taken care of, the guy i bought it from was the original owner, he also gave me all of the work orders that he has had from the past 21 years, so i know the history, mechanically it's sound starts right up and runs smooth, just looking for any suggestions on mods of any kind would be great.

Welcome to Lextreme; you do understand we're a Lexus/Toyota site, not a Honda forum?

I doubt that you'll find much help or support here for a Honda Civic, other than the transplant advice already given. Considering your engine probably rotates opposite to ours, and unless you change out nearly every bit of your powertrain, you may wind up with five reverse speeds and one forward if you try to mate a Toyota motor to your tranny. Could be an interesting swap, but probably not what you had in mind.

My advise would be to clean that car up and sell it for a Toyota.
