I have a 2000 4runner right now, with the 5vz fe in it. i want to swap in a lexus 4.0 from a 1997 sc400 that i have sitting around.

here are the overall ewd, looking at some guidance on how to read this, and then how to splice my 4runner body plugs onto the sc400 harness so that everything works! thank you very much in advance

get yr 1uz wiring
get yr 4runner wiring
sit one ontop of the other
then prob each wire on the body plugs and solder the matching ones together
recalibrate yr tacho so it reads for a 4 cyl not a 6
if u are keeping 4runner gbox and transfer keep that wiring there dont cut it out

As I understand it, it's not rocket science. Just careful matching wiring diagrams together. Reading schematics is harder; I have tried and can do it. I think it will be a challenge for sure, but as soon as your concentration starts falling off, just walk away and give it another go in a few hours or the next day.

Sideshow, do the 3rd Gen Hilux/Surf/4Runner have the same tachometer adjustment as the 2nd Gens? As I understand it, the 3rd Gen physical install of the motor should be a teeny bit easier in terms of room in the bay.
