GT42R Turbo

Anyone know if a Garrett GT42R would fit front of a SC400 engine? Would the SC400 have enough space to house a GT42R?

I was looking at the Garrett catalog but it doen't have front to back demension. If I place the turbo side way, I would need the front to back demension to make sure it would clear the engine and the radiator fans.

What sort of money are they asking for one? Why not the GT45 out of interest?

I think the GT42R would fit, but barely gives room for the front & back of it, given the thin electric fans are in place.

It's a little hard to tell in the first two photos, but when viewed from above, the end of the tape measure was lined up with the edge of the compressor cover. The cover is 9" across at that point.

Perfect! That is what I needed. So the SC400 would need at least 10" to clear for the safe side. Best would be about 14" from the engine to the radiator. Give it 2.5" for the fans.

I have my electric fans on the front of the radiator to make more room.

Smart man! Just make sure they're diffused suffeciently, otherwise the only cool spots on the radiator core will wind up being the area directly behind the last 20-30% of the blades where the rotational speed is the highest.
