car won't start

my 97 LS 400 with 140k was running terrific. the next morning I went to start it and it cranked but did not turn over. My mechanic is leaning towards the problem being in the immobilizer as everything check out ok. No codes in the computer. Has anyone ever experienced this problem, as my shop has never seen this occur with this model of lexus.

it was repaired by a VG foreign auto shop and turned out to be a bad amplifier in the security system.

It sounds like they activated the theft control computer. If you pull the battery, when you re install it you have to make sure you leave the passenger side door open, so the theft control computer does not activate. I read this way back in the back of a service manual for a SC400. I would assume they are equiped the same.
