Can a LS engine and trans come out together?

I'm swapping in a 99 GS 1uz in to my 91 LS. Is it possible to take the engine and tranny out in one go, or do they have to get separated? (I don't have a lift - its just on jack stands)

prob just make sure ya front is high up on the jack stands to get the angle required to get her all out in one go

Oh and forgot, an engine crane makes it a bit easier

I've got an engine crane ("Cherry Picker") and will give it a go! The fun bit will be the whole wiring harness. not looking forward to that bit!

No big deal, just unplug everything from the ECU, pull the harness through the firewall and lay it on top of the engine. Don't forget to disconnect the alternator/ AC harness from the crossmember under the engine.

If the GS is going to be scrapped, cut out the radiator support between the headlights then you won't have to lift the engine/trans assembly so high.

I've done it this way twelve times now using just jack stands and an engine crane.
