Best guess, anyone???

I am the owner of 1999 ls400. After graduating from college last year I bought the car at an auction. Now, it has been sitting in mechanics shop for two months. The engine cranks but does not start. A diagnostic tool cannot connect, computer is down. We changed the computer. The car started, then after sitting on a parking lot for a few days, same problem all over - crank and no start. The computer that was set up got fried. We spoke with Lexus dealer tech guy, they never heard of computer failure, their best guess was voltage spike that fried the computer. What's your guess, gentlemen, I am desperate. Thank you in advance.

how's your alternator regulator?

If the car was in body garage . Check the wires may be you will find short circuit ​

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for you suggestoins. Tomorrow I will try to check alternator regulator. Actually, the car is in a body garage. And we thought there was a short in the system, last Sunday, my dad and I spent hours looking for it - no luck. I ordered another computer. The car already fried two. I will keep you posted. Thank you!!!!
