I dont mean to post another thread asking about turbo advice but this is a different one. I am currently doing a single turbo 1uz motor in my S14 240sx track car and I recently aquired a turbo from a good friend of mine. It is a Garrett GT4082 VNT with a 1.20 a/r turbine housing from a diesel truck. I got it with the electronic control box on top of it that controlled the turbos vanes but I plan to remove it and manually set it to either wide open or try to dial it in alittle to try and quicken spool. Does anyone have any experience or advice on a VNT style turbo and also a gt4082? Im looking for 400whp with low boost. Thank you.
 
Im not sure about that particular turbo, but VNT makes for an extremely versatile turbo.
If i were you i would leave the control box and try and set it up.
guy in the uk used twin gt25vnt and got 550 bhp so cant say much other than wow
