Im missing the alternator wires and connector from my loom and was after a little help.

In the sc400 charging diagram, the blk (or white) and the No. 1 white goes through fusable links then to +ve. Thats fine.

But the No. 3 blk/ylw wire goes to HOT IN RUN, and the No. 2 ylw/grn goes to HOT IN RUN OR START.

What the bloody hell is "hot in run" ???

Do you have the appropriate plug for the alternator?

If not ask and I'm sure some one will have one for you off an old loom.

I hadnt seen that article Dave, thanks!

That makes sense now.
The plug may be hiding somewhere in the large amount of unused wires that ive discarded.

I dont understand though, why their is a 7.5A fuse, a 140A fuse and a 120A fuse within a circuit for one wire.
Surely using just one 140A fusible link is enough.

The 7.5 amp fuse is for the ignition warning light.

The 120amp fuse is for the output of the alternator.

The 140 is actually a fusible link in the wiring. Blow that and you have a real problem on your hands.

Follow the diagram and it will all make sense. Notice some wires are hot in start AND run and others in run only.
