Hi,
I need a few thoughts on this.
Just about finished my conversion and I can see a few "Short Comings".
OK. I have wired in a standard ECU but,
ECU size, location,
age of wiring, brittle plugs,
distributors on a 4x4, (And ECU Location, would like to move it higher up into dash)
age and availability of Karmen sensor,
Reliability,
I am not looking for more power,
just economy and drive-abilty.
1992 4Runner manual,
Celsior 1992 1uzfe,
What is your real experience with a Spitronics system.
Worth It?

I have no experience with that system, but I can tell you're on the right track. I'm doing the same thing with my car for simplicity and reliability sake. Using Lsx coilpacks and getting rid of the distributors. Hope you find the info you need!

there was a really great thread in the archives, its with an ex AEM employee that made his STOCK 1uz run on the aem ems. from my understanding of that thread there is 12 or so pins that need to be changed in order for your 1uz ecu plug to directly plug into the 2jzgte aem v1. he was able to figure out the transmission control configuration too! so needless to say with COPs and a manual trans someone with fair knowledge of the aem system could easily adapt the standalone for the 1uz.... I believe its from 2005/2006.
