jim, yeah it wouldn't really make the conversion complete without the diff gears did you manage to get the auto shifting correctly on the 1uz and controlled by the ECU ok?

yeah that would be good to know. what are the mounts called? any idea on the CRS kit "number" that they're using i see they make mounts to suit HQ-WB but would have thought the commodores would be pretty different....not that the 308 mount really changed much up to the gen3 though....

    LPG on a 1UZ

yes, i suppose it would probably get more interesting also with the HFV6 and the Gen3's having the plastic type inlet plenums ect - not sure how well these would cope with an LPG backfire. i know of a guy who was working on an LPG injection system some time ago on a 4AGTE but don't know how...

    LPG on a 1UZ

interestingly the new Gen3's - the only way to have them converted to LPG now is via a gas injection system, its 4.5k IIRC and theres no power loss or worse economy just cheaper to run. gas injection has been on the cards for years, about time we caught up :)

re ; the sound, i had the *pleasure* of hearing steves v8 sprinter. that thing at full noise sounds like a bloody supercar (needless to say i reckon it goes about the same also) - steve indeed built his own extractors his his little piece of work.

yeah VL tank and lines will fit straight in and you get the added benefit of the unleaded filler too. that also goes straight it grab from a VN the remote release fuel filler flap and chuck that on there - much better than the crap manual vb-vk ones. like zuffen suggests do look at the gas...

    Another 1uz-fe into Commodore - n00b questions

actually a VS tank back will fit in the VK/VH - no issues there. remember though the pumps are in tank. zuffen VN's did not have external tank pumps (unless they were either V8 OR had the 90 litre touring tank) - VL's had the external bosch pump also (reportedly same as JE camira - although...

damo. try and adapt the headers. me and my mate did this with my 4AGE conversion in my TA22 adopting the 2T headers. worked ok. the thing that sits where the carby should be, is it, on top of the carby with the air cleaner off to one side OR has it replaced the carb in its entirety? (i've...

    Another 1uz-fe into Commodore - n00b questions

hi damo, wanna have a yarn with vh 1uz dude on here. he's got his sitting in the VH engine bay, the commodore engine bay didn't radically change until the VR, so yeah no difference there. this would make a nice conversion i reckon. been thinking about it myself. VK Calais are a nice car to...

    LPG on a 1UZ

yeah if its over 10 years old it needs to be retested; i think the test is around $80 but remember you have to empty it and then remove the bastard; and, from memory it has to be done by an AAFRB place too......most of them come back OK the tanks are pretty good - its the ones that sit outside...

    LPG on a 1UZ

yes and no. depends on your system installed. remember your convertor (and possibly mixer) will be designed specifically for the TOT - so you may end up replacing bits and pieces of it along the way.... you also have to then figure out some way of doing the ignition on the 1uz....something...

    LPG on a 1UZ

if you turbo LPG, best to run a blow thru not a draw thru. no issues with intercooling either....re; the bigger lines you'll prolly have to have dual convertors and potentially twin feeds into your gas ring OR twin gas research throttle bodies. you also have to run a line from the diaphragm...

    Factory ECU wiring

jim do you still need this? drop me an email and i'll get it (grega AT vncommodore DOT com) i spoke with you on toymods but, after you'd sussed your auto didn't think you needed it still. let me know mate.

    LPG on a 1UZ

kdog, agree to a point, the stock ECU will control LPG ok, just, not as well as it should - due to LPG having a higher flashpoint and being a slower burning fuel it can live on much more advance than stock. actually i'll prolly use your controller to do the auto. havent decided as yet...
