    4.7L Newb question

I'm not buying 1uz rods, I have some. The 4.7 hybrid has been done few times before and all reports say milling is need for 2uz block w/ 1uz vvti heads. I still plan on getting the measurements or clearances. I just wanted to know if there was a spec people were using. Yes I already have some...

    4.7L Newb question

I didn't understand this at all........ I believe the stock 1uz rods can handle 500HP, right?? not that I ever plan on making that much HP. 350-450 FI (Supercharged) is good enough for me.

HELP! Does this sound like a blown engine to you guys?

Took this motor apart months ago. rod was burnt, crank journal to match, and a dip in a cylinder. :( Boooo! LOL Hunting for a new block (2gen 1uz ) was supposed to be easy. Now I'm ready for some 2uz action.

    4.7L Newb question

Lol...im not looking for anything insane or crazy HP. I'm in need of a new block regardless of how much hp I make. If I make more awesome. So now I hope you see where I'm coming from with the 2uz block questions. I just need a 2uz block, some 1uz rods, and machine some pistons from what I've...

    4.7L Newb question

That's overkill for my goals but thank you. I know those companies exist but $1k is not logical if stock components have been known to hold up for my power goals ( aiming & 350whp ).

    4.7L Newb question

Can I rejuvinate this......? I have the same noobish questions. Is spf still around? I tried to pm him, and his pm is set to off. My personal engine build is going far from as planned lol, so now I'm interested in alternative builds. I have a 98 gs4 and would like to go with the 4.7 block...

    Rebuilding 1uzfe VVT-I

Thanks Spd. I appreciate you replying. I actually contemplated buying your header, as I saw them posted on CL. But I figured I'd just go w/ PPEs to save myself the additional outsourcing.

    Rebuilding 1uzfe VVT-I

Also Ive noticed a huge price diff in 2uzfe front engine components, could I use them safely on my 1uz. Ive read on this forum that the Oil pump works. So I'm curious as to what else will? TIA, Joel

    Rebuilding 1uzfe VVT-I

So guys, here I am, the "tinker-thinker!" I was curious to know what front cover items should I replace while I'm rebuilding this engine, if any!? brackets, idlers, etc etc - Assuming cost wasn't an issue which is a lie, but what are some of the things/concerns fellow GS owners have done...

Finally a fitting intro.........GS4 Road to redemption.

So I had some free time today, and went outside to play w/ the GS. Long story short I have decided to a head(s) job before I buy a new engine. If it doesn't work, then more than likely I'll just rebuild it, before buying a used LB for $900 in an unknown condition I'd rather just invest in my...

Installing Megans--what bushings should I buy?

I just want to say a hard rubber designed bushing trumps the poly. To the OP I'd go for the Oem bushes or a hardened rubber. A poly bushing has no casing to keep it from deforming over time. In addition to that it rides/sits on a center piece of metal. All Oem companies use that cased design for...

Hey Lex, I had asked you about a complete engine, but if mine is rebuildable do you have any 89-94 rods avail.?

Finally a fitting intro.........GS4 Road to redemption.

Diagnostic Techniques ( that were included w/ gauge kit ) 1. Oil in dipstick tube indicates psi. escaping from the cyl. into the oil jacket. This usually indicated stuck, burned or worn rings or cyl. walls 2. Radiator filler opening bubbles or sound indicates psi escaping into the coolant...

Finally a fitting intro.........GS4 Road to redemption.

So I sprayed down the bay yesterday.........just to remove some surface dust & grease, nothing fancy because of the engines state. Before After here are the contents I had found in the radiator, upon removing the cap. Today - I stopped by Harbor freight and grabbed some items to help diag...
