    Overdrive crank pulley for 2UZ

I have used an ASC oversize pulley on my 4.7 Tundra for years with the TRD supercharger. My pulley is 5.9" and boost went from 6 lbs to 9lbs by changing from the stock pulley. I paid $320 4 years ago. Regards, Wayne

    Turbo Selection for 2UZ

Morris...had to modify the rods..can't remember if we changed the rod journals or the rods themselves for fit, but also need to clearance the big ends (for width) to fit.

    rear mount turbo

Gotta agree with John for the same reasoning. A "good", well engineered turbo system will do wonders, but the costs will eat you up in a hurry...my wallet's tongue is STILL hanging out! :o) Wayne

    Twin Turbo Big Block

It sure is nice to be loved....:o) Did I mention that I must have caught this disease from a certain inscrutable Oriental practitioner of the sawbones profession? :o)

JBRADY...by no means was your comment taken as an insult by me...without prior knowledge of what I do (or have done), it was simply a logical comment. You're correct, there are some folks out there who....shall we say...don't always put the correct focus on engineering functions...:o) when...

Justen, surely you remember the Mean Green Machine that we built a couple of years ago? That is a 2UZ in my Tundra, and once I get back at it, should keep me in your good graces...:o) A great combo you are talking about...good luck with that, mate... http://www.lextreme.com/tundra.html Wayne

    Twin Turbo Big Block

Hey John, long time, no talk! Happy New Year to you too....and you are exactly correct...money pit is the word and when you are trying to figure out how to put all this stuff to the ground, the make and model kinda get lost in the melee somewhwere...:o) The compound boost info and article can...

    Twin Turbo Big Block

Thanks, Jake....you bring up a great point...diesel guys have been doing turbo/superchargers for years...forgot to mention that...and your point of proper sizing is correct also...gotta use bigger turbos with a supercharger than if using turbo's alone, all other things being equal of course...

    Twin Turbo Big Block

Thank you, 4X4runner....your confidence is well placed. The 71 Z car has a full cage, full frame, 9" ford rear, 4 link, moser axles, disc brakes all around, 5 lugs all around, fuel cell, 13.5 inches of tire on the ground per side, completely new steering, PG transmission with brake, 4.11...

I highly recommend that if all you have to do is harass people concerning something you have absolutely no investment in (money or brains), I'd stay off the forum and be a nice fella...:o)

    Destruction of Thrown Rods

Do you have the bigger rods and how much do you think you are putting out at the flywheel and what does that thing weigh?

    Destruction of Thrown Rods

Some great points....pls don't let the 5300 factory rpm confuse the issue...WOT can and does happen at 1000 rpm...so nitrous application wasn't the issue...in fact my system is activated by a microswitch under the accelerator that won't engage until I am at WOT. John is right...lot's of turbo...

    Destruction of Thrown Rods

Heck, Striker, motor only had around 14K miles on it....when I pulled it apart, rod and main bearings were fine, oil pressure was always where it should be as was the heat gauge...computer won't let engine rev past 5300 rpm, so it wasn't over-revving.....just wasn't made for the abuse....as I...

    Destruction of Thrown Rods

Yeah, Jibby...know what you mean...I never was very smart when it comes to taking it easy on motors. :o) This link will show you lots of stuff, especially how and where the rods broke...you can see that pretty much all of them broke down near the big end...
