Issues with Heater periodically not working/temp guage fluctuates

Hey everyone, I hope all is well. I own a 1992 LS400 and I am having issues with my heater and temp guage. Here are the symptoms: -My car temperature guage will fluctuate between normal (slightly under half) and 3/4's high on the guage. When it goes up, it always comes back down to...

LS400 periodically idles real low and will sometimes stall on stops

V8sprint...I attempted to send you a PM but the site is saying you are not able to receive Private Messages. I had to set mine up to allow this in my profile, so maybe you need to do the same? Anyhow, I would love to have you check on extra IACV's you may have. As for the procedure to check...

LS400 periodically idles real low and will sometimes stall on stops

Update: I took the IACV out of my LS400, and gave it a once over clean. The unit actually looked in beautiful shape, and nothing appeared to be frozen or gunked up. But I cleaned it anyways and put it back in the car. Now my LS400, instead of idleing extremely low and stalling...is racing...

LS400 periodically idles real low and will sometimes stall on stops

Thanks for the info on the Idle Air Control Valve. I had read somewhere else (cannot remember where) that the IACV, if it goes bad, can pull PS fluid into the intake causing PS fluid loss, which coincidently enough I experience also. So that is why I thought maybe the two problems were...

LS400 periodically idles real low and will sometimes stall on stops

I have a 1992 LS400 with 135k miles on it. Just recently I started experiencing issues with my idle. From what I understand, the LS400 should idle around 650 when in drive or parked, etc. Mine typically does. However, lately, sometimes it will idle around 400 or sometimes even lower, and it...

Clunking sound over bumps (Ball Joints or Bearings?)

Thanks for the info everyone. Are sway bar bushings expensive? And how hard would it be to replace them myself?

Clunking sound over bumps (Ball Joints or Bearings?)

Thanks for the advice. The car spent most of it's life in FL, which is where I bought it. It has only been in Colorado for one winter so far. But yeah, I have a feeling it is a combination of things. I will get under there and check it out and let you know. I can do some work myself, but I...

Clunking sound over bumps (Ball Joints or Bearings?)

One other thing...I have had the car for over 4 years, and it does not seem to be handling as well as it used too...and the car cannot seem to hold a good alignment.

Clunking sound over bumps (Ball Joints or Bearings?)

Thanks for the reply and the info. First off, the clunking/popping sound is coming from both front sides although it is worse on the passenger side than the driver side. It does not happen when braking, but only happens when you hit like a manhole on the road or a bump in the road. I...

Clunking sound over bumps (Ball Joints or Bearings?)

Hey everyone. I own a 1992 Lexus LS400 with 135k miles on it. It is in beautiful shape but it has started to experience some issues with the suspension. I converted the original air suspension to normal struts about 2 years ago and about a year ago replaced the lower ball joints. However...
