    My auto works in my 2nd gen 88 truck 4x4. I'm using the A30-41LE from the sc400 and swaped the output shaft from a A30-80 4cyl 4x4 with a VF2A transfer case. Now i couldn't get the VF2A transfer case to work at all so I just used the forward transfer case housing and used Inchworm gear adapter...

    You know throwing money at problems won't fix anything. I would take the car to a reputable dealership and get the problem fixed before dumping any more money into an unkown problem.

    Your ECU is bad. It is running in Back-up mode which usally means the ECU is shot. How I know this is if you can disconnect the MAF and the engine still runs and revs means it is running in backup mode. Also the timing will be set at 5 degrees BTDC and will not advance.
