Some information came back that the 1uz block was sleeved to 93mm. I don't have any other info as of yet. There was a user who did try a darton sleeve system for 97mm of bore, but there were a few issues.
Supposedly 1uz vvti heads with porting can get to 280-300CFM. I've heard the 1uz non-vvti heads are horrible and the number provided is 128cfm peak flow. That has to be impossible... But the guys in these chats keep saying they are completely horrible.
So when we do this strategy of gaining a few .100" of stroke by off set grinding stock rod journal to a Honda rod journal, do we just get Honda 1.85" rod bearings? What about the thickness due to the rod widths? So are we at custom bearings at this point?
The Honda 1.85" rod bearing is...
I don't see why sleeving a 1uz/3uz block to 94mm using sleeves from Melling or similar and an offset ground 1uz crank using Honda size 1.85 rod journals would be an issue?
In the 2GR where it is the same 105.5mm bore spacing as the 1uz/2uz/3uz Darton makes a wet sleeve that gets up to 97mm...
No one sleeves these blocks? The 2uz uses a 94mm bore for it's 4.7L. If you could sleeve the block to 94mm you'd have 4.7L. With an additional 10% of stroke you would be 5.2L.
So sleeve it to the 94mm bores and get the 4.7L of the 2uz. Then stroke by around 10% ( stock rod ratio is 1.77 ), dropping to a 1.58 rod ratio with standard piston height and get it to 5.2L.
2uz has the same stroke, except 94mm bores. You could sleeve the block for 94mm sleeves. Going larger than that a darton style wet sleeve should be able to get 97mm or so. I'm trying to figure the same thing out.
On the standard sleeves it's safest to be around .062" minimum sleeve...
Darton makes a wet sleeve system for 2GR with the 105.5mm bore centers that allows for a maximum of 97mm of bore.
I was curious if anyone had an idea of how far the 1uz/2uz/3uz could be sleeved to without a darton style sleeve? 95mm? 96mm?
From my recollection 1UZ was like a 1MZ with two extra bores. The cylinder heads and ports are similar on similar size bores. So they should be somewhere between 2jz and 1mz or (220-260cfm peak).
The 120CFM Peak 1UZ non-vvti flow rate is almost hard to believe. Almost no cylinder head is that bad even pushrod heads with tiny ports and tiny valves.
