Gidday everyone..
been a while and now guess what.. I'm seriously looking into FI my lex..couple questions though for the guru'z here..
SC injector size is 251cc on standard computer..I also believe from what i've read that if using a RRFPR it CAN help with small boost..up to 7-8 psi keeping everything standard and basiclly increasing the fuel pressure going through the injector,but my question is... If i use some top feed
275cc high impedance 13.5 ohms injectors , would the standard ECU be able to utilise them only being a small % increase from standard..? and doing away with a RRFPR all together..?with 7-8 psi boost..? I have a plan but all i'm wanting is tq not top end..I'm going to use the M90 with a custom manifold setup from which I've thought about a long time.
Any thoughts would be awesome ,as usual this is going to be on a shoe string budget until i can get a new ecu then i'd dyno and do a proper tune.:feedback: thanks guys..
 
if yr on a budget dont do it
the way i see it is
bigger injectors will help abit up hi
but everywhere else it will be out
yr better off getting a rrfpr and then fitting a safc
this way u have some minute adjustment

if u fit bigger injectors and up the boost how will u know what mixtures are right and what are wrong
 
Thanks Sideshow.. just going through the whole reading pages an pages of threads about pros and cons of rrfpr..lol and I hear ya bout mixtures.. just thought the injectors i had in mind wouldn't trouble the ecu too much ..maybe give it a try and see..if no one else has..I'll be running small boost anyways so might go the tryed and tested method if I get no more feedback.
I already have a 500+ fp in place so was just trying to make this as esi as possible without having to change out the ecu altogether..
would getting some thicker gaskets help much with such low boost?

Do the Aftermarket thing. We have a M90 1uz in the shop at the moment with a link and standard 251cc injectors. Ill let you know how it goes. The other FI ones we have done have had black 440cc injectors ( both the crown with the M112 and my turbo surf) and we did a jetboat the other day with 315cc and twin turbos and the injectors where at 95% on 8psi. I have done a jetboat on 7.25psi on the standard 251cc injectors and the injectors where maxed out .

Thanks Kelvin and Freeman, I would preferr to do an after market but at this stage I'm thinking of getting all the parts needed beforeI even look at s/cing.. what basic ecu you could use then would be a cost affective solution?I'm guessing i should budget $1000 + tune.. could happen if I sell my section..thanks guys.
