Gangs,

There has been some issues with newer engines (1998 and up) Toyota implanted an anti-theft/security system that related to the main ecu. Without the security key, it would not start. Simon Sharpe and Ian Duncan found a way to bypass that system by using other Toyota Security system. They got the OBDII engine fired up. If any experts here can share some lights will be very helpful.

David, do you by chance have a wiring diagram for a car that had the security system that shuts down the ecu?

Most systems that have this feature usually just supply voltage or a ground path to the ecu being that the ECU is a digital device (or most of it is). Basically in most ecu's, they are looking for a Logic of 0 or 1 (voltage or ground) so with a wiring diagram and a Multi meter (man's second best friend) it could easily be determined what the ecu is looking for and supply that signal and and away you go (well as long as everything else has been taken care of)....

i dont see this being a bypass

they used a security system different to the orig

so its not a bypass

ive been playi g with heaps of gm ecus piss easy to bypass and turn off security

toyota ecus u cannot turn of security maybe someone can but normal everyday situation u cannot bypass it

all u can do is get another key reader and stuff round
