Yes I have everything ready to go.. It's a '99 so it's interference.. It's on it's 2nd belt @180,000km (total 335,000km) so i'm trying to get myself together before Xmas to get it done... Still running like a dream... Dam sunroof won't open which annoys the hell out of me...

What's the longest known mileage on a UCF20 cam belt ?.... Have there been any known failures ?... What would likely fail ?

i cant remember now.. but you could see witness marks where the subframe had been moving a few mm... but yeah. tightened up the big subframe bolts and 'cracking' sounds disappeared...

... Seems funny, they both worked perfectly when I bought it 7 years ago.. the drivers side used probably 90% more than the passenger side and yet they both started playing up at the same time and the speed in which the retraction slowed down was equal... and now they both hardly work equally...

Any idea why they wont retract by themselves ?... Is the spring stuffed or is it a lubrication problem ?

*** Yes by all means tell me anyone I can contact. Both front seat belts won't retract, so I was going to pull the passenger one out and see if I can fix it...

.. Wreckers over here quoted my $250 which i thought was a bit much for an 18 year old seat belt...

My drivers side seat belt wont retract unless I feed it in by hand. Is it buggered ?.... Can it be fixed if I pull it out or should I just source another one ? Its very annoying feeding it back in every time i get out... and leaving it out looks very untidy...

Sorry Tony.. But what is a 'water bridge' ?... Can you take a photo of it ? Your diagnosis could be correct as it runs fine when the engine is cold and only misbehaves as the motor heats up...
