    Project Thread Project: 97 6-speed, SC400 supercharged 4.7L V8

Well for fuel rails I have opted to use the 97 rails. Stock they have Banjo fittings at both ends but thats a easy fix. The important thing is they have a feed from one end and a exit at the other. The bore of them is equal to a AN-8 bore so there is plenty of flow there. So I basically need...

Adjusting lash Q, (stage 2 regrinds)

I actually had a set of the stage II cams but never got the chance to drive with them, I pulled them for a set of custom ground cams. Still my valve train took a ton of work, I ended up going completly shimless. If you like PM me your email and I will send you a couple things that will help alot.

Adjusting lash Q, (stage 2 regrinds)

I have just been through everything you are doing. Yes, Buy shims to the correct thickness. I have a full set from a stock motor, No Idea if there might be a thickness you need. As far as getting the shims out of the bucket I used a strong magnet. All that is holding them is a vacum. If you get...

I dont think you are being critical, I love the feedback, it helps me get this thing right. I have made some mods on that deflector sing those pics were posted. I will try to get som pictures up this weekend. It is really close to the floor of the intake middle Vee. I am really worried about a...

OK, I see what the thought process is behind the polish, Cant think I would see anty difference between polished and not. The porting I think is worth the work that was done. Its funny you bring up the argument that a blow thru TB verses a draw thru makes a difference. I have actually told this...

    Engine Girdle

So David, Are you not doing the four bolt mod to this block? How much for one of these to fit the 4-bolt modded 2uz block?

I am shocked to hear this, Makes me wonder why everyone used to port and polish intakes and heads. We used to do it as common practice on our racing two strokes. Please explain more how it increases the boundry layer. Thanks for the heads up. Sent him a email, awaiting his response. Well...

Well, I am trying to decide what to do about throttle body selection. Right now I have three choices Choice #1 is the stock. Stocker is 70mm dia. I dont think this is even a option. Choice #2 is the Nissan Q45 TB. This unit is 80mm dia. This was my original plan until I realized the GM units...

Well John you really got me thinking about my TB choice. I now have bought two different GM TB's to look at as well as my Nissan. Between them all I am sure I will find the magic combo. The more I thought this all out the more I like the IACV built in the TB. Thanks for all your help on this...

    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

Nice John! I was going to run the 550 cc RX7 injectors since they are P&P. So are you saying these will have a better spray pattern? Would the Wolfkats rails that David is selling fit these for you? I know what I checked out they were to big of hole for my injectors. I really like the 97 rails...

John, Just to be 100% clear, You plan on running no PVC with this setup right? I was going with the oil collector Catch can with a K@N on top and no PVC. Sounds like thats what you were doing as well.

OK, so its the junk on the front of the stock intake. I did get away without it on my last engine in the fashion you just described but Mitch was recomending I run one. Guess I have more stuff to figure out.

Its funny you bring this up, I was studying the TB and have several questions about it. Can it be ran in any position? i.e. upside down. There are two small Holes by the butterfly, These are meant to be on the bottom, they are fed by what looks like Vacum lines. Other than that it seems I could...

John, Yes I was intending on using the Infiniti TB. I have to be honest here, I have not even explored this. In fact I am not even sure it is required. Is it part of my stock TB? Please let me know everything you can about it, maybe you will save me some time. Did you have one on the engine you...

So yours hit too? I wonder if this a common happening with performance cams in the 1uz? I would have actually rather took a die grinder to the heads but was too far in the build to pull the heads. The cam also hit one spot on the exhaust cam where there is a factory clearance, I very carfully...

Remember my base circles are slightly larger than stock which could contribute to the lobe interferance. Discharge port is even worse than that, its about 3"x6" clear at the front. Here are some pictures of the intercooler with the plate installed at a slight angle in hopes to redirect it to...
