Crown or Century or something else

Yes, true. (We imported ours in March of this year). There are some hassles involved (depending in which state you live), but the car shares many components with the local LS (while adding a few more features), and the 1UZ is, as was stated previously, much better understood than the earlier...

    LS430 prototype.. with a turbo?

*Snort* Yeah, right! (An OLD Supra prototype! :) ) Seriously, though, why is it that, of all the photos available for this "Turbo LS", why is the engine one tiny, with no "enlarge" option? Scam. (Note capital "S" )

    1UZ-FE or LS1 swap into S14 200sx

That you can get good power from an LS1 isn't in dispute. (I had a similar discussion with some of the LS1 forum blokes on this subject.). From a 1UZ-owner's perspective, yes they make more power AND there is a plethora of after-market stuff available for them... However, they do have their...

    Meet for Australian Lextreme members

I'll probably come up for the run, depending on day/date. My car is pretty much finished (or, at least as far as I'm willing to go with it), and may be up for sale to an enthusiast in the next year or two, so this sounds like a good opportunity for people to at least see it before it...

    What is a Lextremer?

Well, we don't all have FI for our engines, David. Although I "might" fit the 2nd definition. (note: If the meets are restricted to those with FI, I won't be there...)

    $20 000 1uz???

I wouldn't worry too much...I had a bit of a "conversation" with some idiot on the LS1 forums, because he reckons that the 1UZs get rattly "like a new GEN3". These morons haven't a clue about the 1UZ (a fact I was at pains to point out to this bloke), and they will always think their Holden/Ford...

1uz into mx73 cressida *pics update*

Know how you feel; mine still does that. Will get the exhaust blokes to have a look at what (if anything) can be done, without going to the extent of a full set of extractors...

Is the 1UZFE the way to go for FI?

GSMnow wrote: I think the 1UZ is more than strong enough for BIG HP. The "Groundfighter" in the 'States made around 2000HP with a (admittedly highly modified) 1UZ.

    Made in China

To say nothing of the Australian-produced products. (The expression "a chip off the old block" comes to mind...)

    how good are these things?

I know of one 1UZ-powered vehicle in the 'States which was running approx. 2000 HP (albeit with a number of top end and piston mods), on a stock bottom-end. (This link might help - http://innotech.www.50megs.com/LE1.html With a forged steel crank and a webbed, X-bolted block, there isn't much...

    What is U C F 10 L – A E P G K A mean?

    U = UZ-powered C = 4-door saloon (luxury), I think F = ?? 10 = coil suspension (at least it does here - Oz - and in Japan 11 = Air suspension I've included a brief chart showing the JDM-Celsior grading system for the Celsior - this may assist. 1 A specification Sedan 4550* FR...

    V8 into MGB Won't Go?

Unfortunately, if you're at that stage (measuring bonnet extremities), I'd hold grave fears for that project. Whilst the engine is pretty-much the ideal engine conversion prospect, I believe that, if you REALLY want a V8-powered MGB, you "may" be better off going for a larger capacity...

    NH/J Pajero engine bay dimensions

Basically, yes. My wife wants a SWB Pajero (feels safer in that than our little Corolla for 'round town stuff), and I envisage a 1UZ mated to the existing manual gearbox etc. That package should be quite reasonable... (Just have to sell the damn Celsior first...)

    NH/J Pajero engine bay dimensions

Does anyone here have (or have access to ) an early 90's Mitsubishi Pajero - preferably the SWB V6 version, although I imagine the LWB engine bay would be similar? Need to know the length, width and height (the usual 700mm Cube is what I 'm looking for). Am looking to buy one as a...

    Hydaulic Fan to Thermo Fans

Yep, running EF fans in my '83 also...Bloody good fit for the Cress's radiator and they pull a good deal of air. (Haven't deleted the hydraulic pump - it just circulates fluid through a spare reservoir).

    Air Suspention

You have a UZZ31 Soarer. If you're after an on/off switch for the TEMS system (ie. the air shocks), you might try looking in the boot on the LHS. You should see an on/off switch there.

1 UZ in a VH Commodore

If you can actually make the extractors yourself, I'd say go for it! I imagine it will bery tight in a VH (it's bloody tight in my Cressida)... If, however, you are going to have to get someone else to fabricate them for you, I'd suggest that you'll be up for $$. (I will end up spending...

1 UZ in a VH Commodore

Ahhh...The ol' VH... I had one of these (a fully specced SL/E) some years back. Man, did I love that car! Had a 253 in it, and eventually I had extractors and a W58 5-speed put in it. (Wish I'd kept it for a 1UZ project). Anyway, enough of my nostalgic bullshit. As much as I've had...
