If you think the 1UZFE is fun

In 2 words "uncontrollable mayhem!" (Where can I get one?)

If you think the 1UZFE is fun

Almost certainly the latest iteration of the original idea of "joining" 2 FZR1000 engines togther to form a V8. (You can see the original castings for the cam-chain in the middle of the cam-covers). Great idea in a super-light car, but of no real value in a heavy street car, I'd imagine. (Not...

    American V8 Swaps into Lexus?

Actually, that's an area the 1UZ crowd can really hang it's hat on...Most or all of the conversions done here have been with wrecker engines of relatively unknown origin. Mine was bought as an engine/trans package with no regard from where it came (except that it had to be a Celsior front-sump...

    Electric Fan conversion for V8

The Oz and US-spec LS400s may be mechanical (clutch) setups, but the JDM Celsior definitely also runs an hydraulic fan...(My Cressida's engine came from a Celsior and has the pump etc, and I imported a Celsior last year which also had the hydraulic setup).

    Under bonnet air temps

What about running a full-length plastic undertray with a small, downwards-facing lip at the back, such that it creates a high-pressure zone above, and a low-pressure zone beneath. This way, air gets sucked through the engine bay and out under the car...Although what it might do the car's...

    Sydney Meet Pics and thanks

Stirling, Very nice car! (Sounded nice too, on the way out of the car-park! :) ) To hell with Pete and his manuals, I say! (jk) Seriously, though, it was a good meet. It was nice to meet up with people in a situation where you could discuss cars (and, more importantly, 1UZs)...

    1UZ-FE Physical dimensions

    The rule of 7 applies. (700 x 700 x 700....) That should give you a reasonable idea.

World view of the States? What's up Australia?

I actually feel sorry for the American people, who have let and, with the results of the recent election, are still letting their country be bankrupted in the prosecution of an un-winnable war. (Hands up anyone who believes that, some time in the future, someone will be able to stand up and...

    4 Wheel drive 1uz

Yes, they most certainly do (GXL). If you can find one, that gearbox "may" be the way to go. (Mind you, they wouldn't be cheap!)

    electric turbo/supercharger??

The worst thing about it? That someone paid $USD140.00 for it... Reminds me of the "20HP mod chips" they sell on eBay...

    conversion 1/4 mile times?

Using this link (http://www.timmcamis.com/rear_horse.html), I input figures of: 3351 pounds (car was weighed at 1520kgs with a full tank of fuel) 170.3 RWHP (converted from it's original dyno of 127RWKW) and got figures of 15.7 1/4 and a trap speed of 86.7MPH. I'd be surprised if a stock LS...

Modifying AC fans for Radiator Fans

This is a pic of my fans (EF Falcon) "sitting" on my radiator prior to fitment in my car in 2002. Based on a stock Cressida radiator's dimension, this should give people "some idea" of the size of the EF/EL units. Cost was $165.00 2nd-hand.

Crown or Century or something else

Don't believe everything you read on a Govt. web-site... Even under the 15-year rule, various compliance issues still need to be addressed, such as child seat restraints, side-impact intrusion bars (which the Celsiors have), seat belts must lock on impact (I had to replace mine because they...

    $20 000 1uz???

I'm actually a little different, in that I was reading motoring mags as a kid (back in the early-mid 80's), and remember an article talking about Toyota's "prototype" V8 engine which would power their (as yet un-named) luxury car (which became the LS400); I was completely fascinated! (That, from...
