G'day to a fellow ACT 1uz'r
G'day REDSx from a fellow ACT 1uz'r. You may have problems getting a clean and simple tilt column, but as the guys said, any older style hq or ford one will do. I the rod ones at Aud$1000 they are too dear.

I was looking for a wideband lambda (air fuel ratio) sensing unit for my auto classes and was about to buy one from the US when I found the people who made it live not only in Australia, but in the suburb next to my work! I originally looked at the Autronic unit but it was Aud$1600 plus $330 for...
Crown Speedo
Thanks Peewee. The gearbox end is easy, the problem is the speedo end, which wires power the display? Have included pics. I have written a fair few notes on what wire does what, but not able to work out speed/power side. Any ideas?

Megasquirt vs others
Ah shadetree, I see where the confusion is. I beleive you are in Washington US, I was quoting $Aus, which are about 72% of a $US.
The Ford EDIS is probably very common over there, here you'd be looking at US$ 2- 300. Then the MS2 at $369 worked out at just over $500 Aus...
lockup clutch
You could also setup a simple micro switch on your throttle plate or pedal that went open circuit at more than light throttle and even a second one that opened at zero throttle so it rolls when you back off.
Good aftermarket computers can handle this with ease taking inputs from...
auto and torque converter lockup
That's my understanding too, it only engages under light throttle to improve fuel economy and reduce slip=less heat in the oil. Can't handle heavy loads, and disengages at zero throttle to allow car to coast. If you switched it manually you would have to be...
Megasquirt vs others
I looked at the megasquirt, but by the time you buy the good kit ($500), build it (hopefully without killing it, get a ford edis system you are probably going to spend $800 to $1000. You then have to wire it, program it (with some help but it's limited and your working of...
Need dash?
Welcome Mods, first I've heard about it. There's heaps of info on this site to help you with the install including wiring diagrams, etc. The standard computer (LS400 has one for the engine and auto combined - crown has 2 seperate ones) is looking for a speed signal which I believe is...
Spark Leads - anyone tried other than $390 Toyota?
Thanks superlex1
Any thoughts on lead brands anyone? Peter Scott (planet soarer) was impressed with the Toyota ones ($390), not with the Topgun ones ($200), and I've heard the Repco ones aren't great?
What brands were the $200 leads (Bosch?)...
prices of parts, good plug leads?
Hi Superlex
To get an idea, roughly how much did you pay for the parts?
I also heard that the repco plug leads are no good, what other alternatives have people tried to the expensive genuine ones ($270??)? and do they fit as well as the genuine ones?
lpg injection
Look forward to any info on this subject, I agree, now that I think about it, the computer will probably go into limp mode. However, if it gets it running, I can then run a magasquirt or an aftermarket computer as I'll know it runs.
Canberra pics
Here's some pics - Rod driving the Desert Brat - (the Range Rover is a Hummer on steroids - definitely more than a Moke on steroids Rod!). I had other shots but the camera froze on the download and they dissapeared.
A good time, and I finally met Kdog (looking back at me with...
Running standard computer with lpg and turbos??
Since the lpg system does all the fuel management, will my car run without the airflow meter as I've rewired the standard computer to initially use it with the auto computer to see what happens(using Rod and Kdogs great wiring diagrams).
Any...
