well, i've slowly ben working on this one for over a year now. my biggest hold up is that i bought a house shortly after i started the swap, so the swap sat for a good while.

I wouldnt recommend it unless you have either the money to do it quickly, or the time and patience to make it a project... because it is a project. i hope to have mine done by Christmas, but i currently lack a driveshaft.

the first pic is from the bottom, showing the space behind the crossmember. is that what you were looking for? nevermind, i get i now. i havent actually put the crossbar back in yet, but its going to be well clear. i'll get you pics when i put it back in.

Finally some pics! cjsupra, here are the pics of the crossmember clearance. no exact measurments, but my fingers fit fine as in the 3rd pic. also, i may need to comission you fab / welding skills for a tranny mount. mine works, but the tranny hangs too low. you think you could weld me one...

i did stop for a while, and traveled a lot too. i built a tranny mount yesterday, which i will install tomorrow. then i can take the pics you need of the clearance. Also, if anyone has some grey (or black) interior carpet layin around, i'd like to replace mine.

i'll do that monday night, i got the motor in and mounted last monday night, and in dover, delaware this weekend, and back home monday. i realised when i got the motor in that i have no rear trans. mount. the rubber mount was broken, so i need to find one of those. i really need to get it...

yeah, a little late for me, but it does look like a winner.

no, because the shaft from the pedal is off center, it only goes through the fire wall in this position. my solution for that? dremel tool. if we can get it in right side up, it should all fit just fine. i'll let you guys know. D.

booster comparisons a drastic difference!

yeah, if you look closely at the pictures, you can see that the roed to the pedal is slightly off center. i think (havent tried it yet) that a minimal ammount of filling on the fire wall will alow it to fit unflipped. it almost fits as it is. the only thing catching is the boot over the...

and the unit to replace it with. both shorter ans smaller in diameter, both by an inch or more.

ok, here we go, the first few pictures show the motor against the booster, the last is the booster with the motor out. the dent from the booster was made by the motor alone, i didnt hit it.

well, i took pictures and then left the camera with the car, 15 minutes away. but, theres really no way the stock booster is going to work unless you cah move the motor forward signifigantly. however, the brake booster off an 81 2wd pickup should work beautifully. its $138 from advance auto...

At some point over the last 6 months i have managed to lose half of the bolts for the tranny. I have 3 to mount it to the motor, and 3 for the torque converter. So if anyone has a spare set, let me know. im sure toyota wants an arm and a leg for them. Thanks. Daniel
