I serviced with synthetic diesel engine oil. Ran a few k's and dropped the sump again. Lots more crud. Now had another round of diesel engine oil, and left it in there. About to go twin turbo. Not expecting it to last much longer! ROFL!

I normally just tie off the start and the end with 316 Stainless zip ties. Works a treat and looks pretty good. (What you have done looks good, but the stainless zip ties are quick and easy)

Any chance you have the temperature sensor from under the drivers side headlight? Its right up forward on the front apron somewhere, it sends temp to display ambient temp on dash.

All of the Toyota Diesel engines I have read about have a "Major Service" interval at which point the manual suggests removing the head and changing big end bearings, inspecting most moving parts etc. It is much more than 100k.
