that sounds awesome. A +600ccm is crazy! Is it a V12 engine? Darton is a good choice. I like them...
We used sleeves for a Peugot disesel engine. They are cheap... My goal was to build a stronger block, not more displacement. ;)

Yes, it's the V12 from the 550 Maranello, so I guess I'll have to change the name to a 600 Maranello :) The car is staying naturally aspirated, and its stock rating is only 88 HP/liter, so it's not stressed at all. The new 458 Ferrari has some insane HP/Liter figure around 110 or 115, so it's far more stressed than this '12.

Mine is a heavy GT class car, meant for comfortable, high speed cruising, not a hotrod like the 458.
 
Hope those aren't the first variant of the CP 88.25mm pistons we got had way to much back clearance. But WOW! great build alot of interesting things going on their, I like the gasket idea.

We haven't re-sleeved yet but a friend of ours does, he is pushing 1500-1600hp+ with a 1UZ, we aren't quite there yet.

Do you know some details of this 1UZ? Stock crank and mains? Or billet and with girdle? 800HP out of 2000ccm isn't that new, but it's a lot stress for the engine. Do you know the boost level of your Buddy?
But I've seen a lot of your videos and pictures and your Capri is very impressive too!!! TOP!

I've bought the CP pistons in 2012, so I think it's the first variant. I didn't know that problem when I ordered the pistons. Hmmm... I don't want to open the engine in the next time... It has only about 4000km on it right now...

It's a basic combo just like ours. Stock crank and mains. Was running about 40psi with the turbo's like we have was showing around 1300-1350hp@engine, now has Precision 6766 and is only pumping 30-35psi into it. It's on methanol, he does all the work himself. Has run 7.4@190mph+ in a Toyota Hilux.

If you got 4000km on them then you should be fine.

That is awsome. The 1UZ is a very good choice and I'm happy to own a boosted one. :p
 
What mods did you have to do to fit the ATI 2jz damper/pulley?

If I'm right you need a longer bolt too. From the 2JZ...
There is a groove in this adpater inner hole for the crank tongue . And I installed another tongue in this groove too for the ATI hub... I hope you know what I mean. If not, I could do a little drawing to explain it...
 
I told you from my custom intake manifold which performed very bad. I will show you some pics of the fabrication and maybe you have an idea why it's so bad.
I think it's the runner lenght. It's only about 70mm to the surface of the heads...
It's not a peace of art but it was only a test...;)

Can you describe what the difference was? Does the JZ crank have a larger or smaller diameter crank end where the pulley goes on? Maybe a picture would help I guess, it looks like you've created a sleeve that enlarges the diameter of the 1uz crank to what the JZ is and created an inner key way in that adapter for the 1uz and the 2jz pulley?

The diameter of the crank end is exact the same like the 2JZ. But the 1UZ crank end is too short for the 2JZ ATI hub. So you have to find a way to bring the pulley on the needed position to drive your steering pump, alternator etc. That's why I build this adapter.
I have to think about it again and will do a drawing for you...
If I have to do it again, I would build a complete new (longer) hub instead of the 2JZ hub which comes with the ATI pulley.

I take a picture of the two fuel maps, with custom short runner intake and one of the OEM Intake. Target AFR are the same in both maps. As you can see, the custom intake fuel map is very flat and peak VE is at about 6800rpm vs 4800rpm with the OEM intake.
It feels like you drive with no or very low boost, but your gauge shows 20PSI and nothing happen.
The OEM intake is a very different story. Ok, a little too much low end torque, but I think I can get a little bit more at higher revs with more advanced cam timing, like John said.
Maybe I will build another manifold with stock lower manifold and a custom top tank with 90mm throttle body. That's very easy and takes not that much time to build.
