I own a 2002 Toyota sequoia 4wd which I understand uses the 2UZ-FE, engine and has 240HP.

Now I know newer sequoias also use 2UZ-FE, so what kind of problems would I run into if I wanted to swap mine out for a 2UZ-FE with more HP.

Would a newer sequoia engine fit right in to my 2002, without any trouble? Also should I assume that the 1UR-FE and 3URFE would not work as well?

loom won't plug it, immobilizer system is different, instrument panel / ABS / a/c interface is different
so it will be like swapping say F150 or RAM 1500 to said 2UZ

I would suggest, look up the workshop book and see what needs to change, as the pins may be different, odds are you may be lucky and stuff might line up, but you will need to do work yourself to get everything right, if you have someone else do it, then, you may want to look at @George_R's signature, and come out the pockets.....

It would probably be a lot more cost-effective and reliable to just sell the vehicle you have and get a vehicle with the engine you want, to be honest.

2 options easiest first:

1 - Swap black plastic intake manifold from VVTI onto your engine and 12-hole fuel injectors like these: https://amzn.to/3c0kNyC that will gain you some HP not quite what VVTI makes but closer. Add some headers and you'll be there.

2 - Yes swap in the VVTI motor but use as many of the sensors from your '02 as possible; throttle body, etc as you can and make sure to cap off all of the air injection equipment on the VVTI intake and headers. Then you can use an RPM activated "window switch" to turn the VVTI solenoid on and off depending on RPM like this: https://amzn.to/3beplC6 You may have to dyno to find the optimal RPM.
