hi. my car is getting near to completion so i thought i would put a thread on here for you guys. heres a little explanation of how it came about, i have a datsun 240k gt skyline in my garage that i have been restoring/modifying. my plan was to put a 1uzfe in that so i bought a donor ls400 . after i stripped the car i decided not to use the 1uz in the skyline and i bought a rb25de that im gonna put in that on itb's. that left me with a 1uz sitting there without a home. then i found the gx81 on ebay, automatic with a blown bottom end 1geu (i think) engine. perfect.

i stripped out the aircon and loads of other junk, then i bought some brand new coilovers for a 200sx s13, got them home and took a grinder to them, adapted the front struts and then fitted the rears. nice easy job and should be a nice ride.

random steering boss i found fitted.

bought a clutch and flywheel for a 3sgte got the holes modded to fit the uz crank, the new holes are pretty snug on the bolts, not slotted, more like the shape of a number 8. chamfered the teeth bolted on lovely.

i bought a ks racing bellhousing, fitted well but the clutch release was all wrong using the ma61 w58 parts, i tried a fork from mk3 and mk4 supra w58's too nothing was gonna fit so i gave up. i got a billet machined up to bolt a saab concentric cylinder to, eventually got it to fit. hydraulic lines were a problem as i couldnt seem to get anyone to make them up with the right fittings on.

got no pics of the clutch release but it kinda works, need to get new lines made up as the copped ones are leaking....
squeezed the lump in the hole, made mounts using 6mm steel and landrover v8 rubbers. gearbox x member lined up great, got a mk3 supra shifter and extended it 50mm to get the shifter in the right place.

i made up a franken-clutch pedal, took ages to get in to fit right, used a ma61 master cylinder i had from my old supra.

oil filter would not fit so i took off the adapter and removed the oil modem, i then bought a remote oil filter/cooler kit and some ali weld on fittings, welded them on and routed the pipes through the a/c holes in the front panel. all fitted perfectly in the space and looks good. welded some studs into some box section i cut and profiled to fit the rad x member, welded them in place so its fixed solidly.

started the exhaust manifolds, got some flanges laser cut and grabbed a load of random bends.... the drivers side was a bitch, had to make it in 3 parts to fit it all round the steering column and stuff. the other side was miles easier. 1.75" primaries into 2" secondarys then finally into 2.5" then i welded 2 bolt flanges on the ends to bolt up to the main exhaust

in the meantime i got an ali rad installed. i had it left over from a s14 i had, never fitted it so i adapted it to fit this. moved the lugs on the bottom, cut out the in and outlets and welded in a bigger diameter pipe for the larger 1uz hoses.
