Supra steering rack upgrade for SC400???

I just replaced my inner tie rods when I discovered the boots had a lot of oil in them with a few drops coming from the rack ends. Im pretty sure my rack is leaking and on its last legs. Here's my Q:


I noticed that sc300/400 steering racks cost 2x what a supra rack goes for. I dont mind running the supra rack but is there any added benefit such as a tighter ratio or feel? I know most supra parts that are swapped onto SC's are usually an upgrade in some form or another.

On a side note, I heard somewhere that an LS400 rack can add some steering angle on the SC... can anyone verify this?


I have searched CL and google searches but zero difinitive answers on this. Any help is appreciated,

ls400 rack does give lots more angle. but it's behind the sump, not in front of the sump like the scXXX and supras, so I don't think it will work.

we use the ls400 racks on cressidas to gain tons of angle though.
