bought a 19 ls400 with 103k and put 75k on it. its at 178,010 mi.
drove ok and parked. Went back out 20 mins later, car started up fine, but would only drive 15mph after that. wierd almost stinky ammonia smell comes from tailpipe while it runs this way. checked timing belt and it didnt jump time.
check air filter and it is clogged heavily. checked plugs and they look ok, except a little oil in cyl 5. no CEL lights. Shorted the diagnostic port and received not hidden codes either.
for the last 10k miles, the car had a vert slight stumble at idle which got about 15% worse over time, but overall the car drove about the same.
a few ford ppl think its an ecu problem.
owner many toyotas over the years, still have one from 1981, and never ever ever had any ecu troubles with toyota ecus..
any ideas?
