oil dripping from bellhousing

i have a problem with oil dripping from the bottom of the bellhousing where it mounts to the back of the block its not much but id just like to know where its coming from and why

but then wouldnt i have oil mixing with my tranny fluid?

No - tranny fluid is in the tranny and oil is in the engine and the bellhousing is in between.

damn rear main is a pretty big job, is a drop or two of oil per day worth tearing out the tranny?
