Exhaust???

For anyone who dosent know, I am currently most of the way through MA61+1UZ-FE build project.
I want to find out what the best way to go for exhaust system is.
I want,
Moderate sound (not too loud, unless I'm up it)
Moderate Performance (the more the better)
and last of all
As cheap as humanly possible.

It only has to last me 6 months, by then I'm happy to replace it with something really good.

What sort of sizes should I be asking for???

JBrady (I think) has done a lot of work on sizing and sound. Another option is to search Planet Soarer.

The answers are all here.

You will find it cheaper to do it right the first time rather than pay someones labour to do it twice. The difference in cost between good material and rubbish is minor compared to the labour.

For cheap just go with duals off the cats, no crossover, no H or Y or X pipe. This will give a performance V8 sound.

For mufflers you can go with the Summit Racing turbo mufflers... they are decent performers and are dirt cheap. Sound should be very reasonable.

I would go with 2.25" pipes.

In 6 months you can upgrade. The above should cost around $125-150 USD.

Adding a simple H pipe where the stock Y pipe goes will boost low rpm torque for a few more dollars.
Summit has for $32 under X and H pipes listed as ballance tube kit.
