I have a 92 LS400 w/ 253,000 miles and have had probs recently with a code 71, EGR system malfunction. I recently replaced all of the vacuum hoses that make up the EGR system and took apart and cleaned then gunk out of the EGR valve unit and replaced PCV valve and tube. My exhaust is cut off right now after the factory resonator and there are no mods except for when I used to have a cold air induction/high flow filter installed a month ago but now has factory air intake setup. I had replaced the spark plugs w/ reg. Bosch platinums 7 weeks ago. Fuel filter replaced over the summer. Recently, my car had been acting up by bogging, engine RPMs drop every few seconds from 600 to 200 then jump back up to around 1100 RPM and start the cycle all over again. It has gotten worse and now only starts up but then it stalls out a couple seconds later. Can anyone tell me what the prob would be and/or is there an EGR block off plate I can get and if so how will it affect my ECU and engine? Thanks.
