Guys,
According to the govt bible on the Single Vehicle Approval test here in the UK I do not have to use catalytic converters on the LS400 engines I'm putting into my Cobra projects.
However I do have to get the engines below the following emissions levels
CO 3.5% and HC 1200ppm.
Now I'm reasonably confident that a fuel injected and electronic ignitioned car can pass these levels, but I'm wondering that if I ditch the EGR system completely will I still come under these maximum limits.
What is the general opinion ? Anybody had experience of Emissions tests with and without EGR systems.
I'm asking because the EGR system is really easy to get off now as there isn't a body on the engine/chassis combo but once the body is on, as will happen in a couple of weeks, removing the EGR will be a right royal pita.
Thanks for your continued advice, its very welcome and appreciated.
Cheers,
Tony
