I know the 2jz does, just curious. I'm guessing not given the differences in specific output, but i can't believe i haven't researched this question before. I also brought this up because someone said the sc400 had a yamaha designed airbox, which i am not sure it that is true.

2jz is toyota head, not yamaha (1jz is i think). dont think the uz is either

1jz & 3sgte beams both have heads designed by Yamaha but I believe the 2jz & 1uz are Toyota's handywork.

No F heads where yamaha, I found a tripple fork on a 7m head once, as well as a 4ag head. 3sgte is the most ovious with the giant yamaha on the timing cover. I agree its been my understanding that the 1jz was yamaha where the 2jz was toyota.

heads

the 1g-gte had a yamaha head too, and was clearly labelled. the 1j head might explain why you cant bolt 2j manifold onto a 1j head. I always wondered why toyota made them so different when they were so similar... I guess that the answer, they didn't.

Did yamaha make the 3m toyota twin cam head? I would thinkl not becasue it was a timing chain head, but I dont remember. i thought all the dohc heads were Yamah untilt he j series engines...

The 2ZZ-GE also has a Yamaha head. I was working on a Lotus Exige yesterday and saw the Yamaha name on the cyl head cover.
