To anyone who wants to help!
The Gold Coast in
Queensland has lost most of their motor sports facilities.
The road race track and drag way closed years ago, the kart track has closed and the motorcycle speedway and motor cross tracks are about to close.

The local council has allowed the developers and minority groups to push for closure.
Two locals have set up a website to fight for new facilities

The work of the so called "progressives" also known as "liberals" aka "socialists"... they are infecting the planet at an alarming rate.

Small minded "activists" who blame easy targets to bolster their own agenda.

Take racing for a moment. MOST young men will want to "race" at some point. When there is an outlet, such as a track, this action can take place relatively safely and constructively. When there are no tracks the action is taken to the streets as street racing which is more dangerous, subjects the participants to arrest and in that way erodes the respect our youth have for law enforcement.

There is an old adage: "Racing improves the breed” this originally referred to horses but is equally applicable to horsepower. The pursuit of maximum power is also the pursuit of maximum efficiency. The modern automobile engine is the beneficiary of over a century of racing efforts. The impact of which is TOTALLY lost on the "greenies" who would in a moment eliminate ALL racing. Small minds professing grand visions... delusional to say the least.

its not all 'greenies' unfortunatly.
The local motorcycle speedway track is in a industrial area and bordering a tip (dump), the neareast house maybe a km away and they complain about noise.
The motorcross track is next to a freeway but a developer built a housing estate across the road then asked for the track to be closed. i.e better prices for his land.
its like when you buy cheap land next to an airport and then campaign for to be shut down.
The other problem is the council/government spends millions on a once a year race on a street circuit and nothing on permanent multi use facilities.

Lindsay Fox suggested they give him the $20 million spent on the F1 GP in Melbourne each year and he builds a permenant motorsport and F1 circuit on his airport land but so far no luck.
If football or cricket fans were treated like this there would be a huge uproar, so get on

Instead of trying to change the mentality of the Gold Coast (it will NEVER happen), why don't they take their money and support to Warwick.

A town and council that supports motor sport, a great facility that can be expanded, and only 2 hours away !

RallySA (an Australian rally championship round) doesnt normally get any same-weekend newspaper or TV coverage.
There is a major accident in the rally (front torn off a WRX), and suddenly its 2nd page news in the major newspaper here with mentions of police investigations, etc.
Sigh :(

Adelaide doesnt have a drag-strip and a race track thats too far away.
They are trying to build new a racing facility closer to the city (they have the $$s), but the gov wont sign off on it yet.
On the plus side though, small events like hillclimbs and motorkahnas are very popular atm.
