I thought I would share a little bit of automotive porn with you all. Below are a few pictures of the latest screw supercharger being released from PSI superchargers, which is machined completely from billet aluminium. Very nice work of art!

I had Norm Drazy, then owner of PSI, send one of their earlier units to C&G Marine in Miami FL back in 1992.

We bolted it on to one of Randy Garciga's 572 BB Chevy offshore racing engines . I was WAY overconfident that it would make easy work of the roots blower it replaced. Unfortunately at the boost levels they ran (relatively low) the increased efficiency did not make up for the drive loss of the bigger in size but smaller in displacement (than the roots it was supposed to replace) and it made less HP per psi... no deal.

Now their site shows offshore units available. I have to admit that I haven't followed the PSI story since and was surprised to see that the are even in Top Fuel. There site is pretty basic and looks like they now also build roots blowers so not sure if TF is screw or roots from them.

It certainly is one tough looking unit!

They seem to build some good quality stuff, although have not personally dealt with any of their products.

TF and the majority of the higher drag classes tend to run screw blowers, although a few guys over here have been making the change to a roots blower with some impressive results.
