The item under discussion is the resonator/air duct part that connects air box outlet to throttle body, and has a hollow chamber. Example p/n is 17875-50150

Does anyone have an experience of deleting it? Does it help provide any mid-rpm torque, or is it purely for reducing intake noise?

Iv deleted it,

I doubt it bolsters the power at any range as the opening to it is less than 2cm, so wouldn't provide any usable volume of air for the engine

this however is an assumption

Whilst Google doesn't bring up too much either way there are numerous papers produced that can prove it improves volumetric efficiency on reciprocating engines.

Any increase in VE must have a knock on effect in HP produced.

I know Auto Speed did some testing on chamber sizes and came up with power gains by playing with the chamber.
