This car has always felt lazy but I assumed it was just how they ran. A week ago I took off from work and it felt like it had twice the power it has ever had (part throttle and WOT), but has returned to "normal". This has happened a few times in the last year but I cannot find the problem.
With a scan tool I see ~18° timing advance around 5000 rpm and O2 sensors stay full ritch. I'm not sure what the advance should be on this engine but it sounds like it should be ok? It does not feel like it misfires. Fuel trims look good.
Things I have done:
Checked cam timing
Plugs/wires/dist caps
Replaced ECU caps
Reman MAF
Only mod to car engine wise is high flow cats, flowmaster mufflers, H-pipe
Can anyone suggest more places to look or can share a factory timing map so I can log it and compare?
