Not xUZFE but interesting comparison between a modestly built Ford 5.0 Coyote 4v and the GM LS3 2v

While I own and really like the 1UZFE... for swaps... the LSx family is available all alloy (low weight), significantly smaller external dimensions, larger displacement, than most 4v options. Typically cheaper to buy, only one cam to upgrade...

Interesting video.

I have an LS3 in a custom car and with some slight tuning (inlet, exhaust and ECU) it is putting out close to 500hp.

Compared to my 1UZ it is daylight.

Had LS3s been available when I first did my engine swap my Rover would be LS3 powered.

Smaller, lighter and heaps more power plus being a newer engine less trouble with aging electronics.

Nowadays an LS3 won't cost much more to buy than a 20 year older 1UZ here in Australia.

That all being said I do love the 1UZ for the way is purrs along.
