1UZFE Vs. 2UZFE Bucket

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
SO, since the last few pages of this thread aren't on subject... :)

...am I hearing this correct as a good combo?

1UZ Aftermarket Valve Springs
2UZ Retainers(bored to 6mm)
2UZ Under Bucket Shims
Echo Buckets

?

Thanks,

Andrew

Depends on your expectations.. ???
I guess in U.S the latter model heads are more available second hand??
I couldn't get some heads or 2UZ buckets so we used the Echo ..
I could buy NEW buckets at $24 each. Sounds cheap ???
$760 for a set!!! NFW !!!
The 1UZ set up works too with GOOD springs and modest cam.. Which I would say being a street engine it would be...
Just depends on your budget and how much your prepared to fiddle with clearances..I remember the clearance numbers nearly sent me crazy !!!
I don't how the guys doing this for a living do it??
Mainly set clearances the same so we knew the height of bucket to fit...
The major thing is to fit valve springs up to spec to your cam profile!!!
Being the std spring tension is under 50Lb !!!
Fitting springs with seat pressure 80Lb / 180Lb @ full lift should work fine..
Spring pressure varies to cam profile so follow what the cam grinder suggests..

Well most likely, this engine wont see cams for a few seasons. But it will be seeing 8k revs sooner than later(stand alone ecu).

It is an early 1uz and I have access to Toyota parts since I'm an employee :)
