Hey guys, I followed Cebby here from yotatech.

My 3.0 turd V6 gave out on me for the 3rd time, so it's time for a swap.
I have a 94 4runner 4x4 that I'm planning to engine and soild axle swap at the same time.

I plan to keep as much of the running gear as I can... so like my tranny and Xfer case.

Cebby told me to get an engine from a sc400 and then the tranny stuff could come from any of the "400" vehicles.

so, my check list goes something like this?
sc400 1uz with all ACC's(ex AC) and rear sump. after looking at Phil Bradshaw's 1UZ info page it mentions the 1uz changes after 94. is there any year I should look for? will the 96-99 models work?
tranny for: bellhousing, TC, input shaft, oil pump.
ECU, does this need to be from the same car as the engine?
Wiring harness (does this need to be modified?)
modified moter mounts(any ideas here?)
electric fans for rad.
maybe headers?
anything else?

also I know this swap has been done before, any tips or pitfalls to watch out for?

any help you could give my newb self would be great.
thanks

Ideally you would want to get everything from the same car then you can be assured of getting a complete running setup.

I would do the SAS first, you will then know how much you need to lift the body to fit the motor. The IFS usually means you have to lift at least 2in's wheras I think you could get away with less with the SAS.

Good luck.

Matt.
