Hi all,

Now i have the 1UZ from the halfcut home and on an engine stand, what kind of prep work should i be doing to it before its installed in the car?

To be approved for rego, it needs to look 100% factory (so all emissions gear and intake piping & filter).

This is the list ive come up with so far:
- New timing belt ( & tensioner?)
- Removed sump & clean out
- Remove intake manifolds, clean out
- Remove TC throttle gear
- Clean idle control valve/solenoid
- Do simple intake (manifold only) port match
- Remove TB coolant heater lines
- Remove power steering pump (not needed)
- Check main crank seals
- Check dizzys for wear & cracks
- Spark plugs

Anything im missing?

Thanks guys :)

Maybe starter motor check ? Brush's etc while its out.. Due to its location..
Water pump replacement if you want ??
I lube tensioner pulleys on front assembly..
Things like park plug leads can be replaced latter ??

Id replace the water pump and all the idler pulley bearings also. soo much easier on a stand!

Since your doing the timing belt your already most of the way there to do the water pump as well. (Tensioner is also a good idea)

Id also just change the plugs and dizzy cap and rotor etc, since its easy and cheap and gives you a baseline for future maintenance. Id also change the oil seals while your at it, once again much easier on the stand.
