    1uz ford capri

Hi folks Sorry for neglecting you lately. Big Kriss mucho thanks, but most people say the straight jacket makes handshakes difficult;) Anyway I have a genuine reason (excuse) why I have done almost nothing on the car in the last year. I got to the stage where I was climbing over it to access...

Resetting Brake Pad Wear warning light

Just been doing the brakes on mine and wanted to chip in. From what i can see the sensor plugs onto the pad and once it gets worn it breaks a wire and this brings on the light on the dash. This means that once the light comes on the sensor is broken and needs to be replaced, and if it's your...

    1uz ford capri

Hi all. Haven't been neglecting you lately just been no point in posting as what I have been doing has very little effect on how things look. A lot of the panel work is now finish welded and things like brakes and timing belt are done. Nice I think you will agree. Now one thing that...

    1UZ crank pulley tool?

Had the same problem myself and even bent a couple of home made attempts. My solution was a nice new 1/2 inch air gun with a good torque output. Couple of bangs and gone. Best bit was I had just enough room to use it without removing the air-con rad :D

I'm the 1st to post in the uk section!

Hi guys, Just spotted this. Ex-pat across the water. Dying with flu at the mo so have a chance to properly trawl the site. Remember just because it;s a Japanese engine don't mean the body has to be.

1uz American spec VS japanese spec???

Also remember to check if the quoted figures are in DIN or SAE and if measured at wheels or flywheel.

    LS400 suspension

Air suspension? Don't mind the work and as a truck mechanic I'm on familiar ground but even if I could source the parts I think a full custom made setup would be cheaper. Bushwhacker, cut springs (done properly) are an option to get it on the road but I'm looking for something that leaves me...

    LS400 suspension

Just wondering if anyone knows if the springs and shocks from another model Lexus (eg Is200) or a Toyota will fit to the LS. I am building a project based on a 96 LS400 floorpan and need to drop the ride height a couple of inches but have two problems, first because of the difference in...

    Something unusual

Not quite sure where to put this. Came across this for sale recently in ireland, don't have the cash but would love it just for being so unusual. Its a Russian Volga Gaz 24 by the way. Says nothing about it in the add but wheels, exhaust, steering wheel, dashboard and seats all look like...

    Manual conversions - what gearboxes?

Just a couple of left field ideas. I live in Ireland and recently saw a Capri with 1uz for sale that had the ford type 9 adapted to fit but personally don't think that this box is up to the power. If you search the site you will find an old thread (pics gone) sierra 4x4 conversion, so a Ford MT...

    Extreme MPG from 91' LS400 ??

Cheap and cheerful way to better MPG just fit larger diameter tires. For example change from a 60 profile to 65 or 70 with the same width and rim diameter. Acceleration will suffer a bit and your speedometer will read low or need to be re-calibrated but all it will cost to try out is two tires...

    Rebuild advice wanted

Over here I can source a complete car for about 500 or 600 euros with a bit of searching and patience. I intend to just update the reliability as I don't want a days racing ruined (it's a maybe twice a year treat for me at the moment) but no-one would put it past me to bring a spare engine with...
