Lexus Shortblock Engine

Here is a pictorial demonstration of the 1UZFE engine being apart.  Most of the components are stock except one of the cylinders got bored and some experiment with the head chamber.

This awesome machine displacing close to 4.0 liter with double over head cams all aluminum block and heads with electronic multi point fuel injection system.

Due to the need to impress the world with the first luxury car from Toyota.  Lexus engineers were out to produce the best of the best from Japan.  The block was all aluminum with 6 bolt main bearing caps along with forged steel crank and balanced to zero forged pistons.  Secondly, the block is webbed and cross-bolted for extra rigidity.

I believe this engine have the same or perhaps higher quality/engineering than the world famous 2JZGTE, which is powered the Supra MKIV Twin Turbo.

This engine was and is considered one of the best engine ever produced from Japan and perhaps the world.  We are looking at a piece or history and a piece of art.  This engine would make about 25% more horse power than the 2JZGTE.

Here is a picture of my spare 1UZ with .020″ over bored.

Here is the V8, its small but deadly.

Other view of the 1UZ

This is the view from rear.

That is a .093″ head gasket I will put in to lower the compression.

Six bolts main. Very strong. Its very hard to take it out from the block.

Here is a closer look. The machine shop need to heat up the block in order to get it out.

This is the forged steel crank. Its beautiful.

This is a freelance site with no support by huge companies.  I have been doing most of the R&D and technical write-ups by myself with my personal money and literally thousands of hours of my time.  I have taken extra steps to demonstrate in details how things are done.  Currently I am one of the few people doing Lexus V8 research and performance enhancement.  This effort comes from my personal love for this wonderful engine.  Most of the modifications are from trial and error. There's no cookbook for 1UZFE mods and its unknown territory for much of supercharger performance.  The parts, labor, web development and site hosting are 100% paid from my personal hobby money.  If you feel my efforts help you in any form, please do not hesitate to donate any amount of money to support this site. You have no idea how much I and the entire Lexus and Toyota community appreciate it!
