Re: Battle of the clubs 2009 - Something great to look forward too!

With the huge amount of new development at ODI Raceway over the next 6-10 weeks, we came up with the concept of running an Event called Battle of the Clubs – “The Showdown”.

The date is set for June 27, and 28. This should be an event where all clubs will send their Top 10 Vehicles to participate for the crown of “Club Champions”. It will be run with 4 principals namely;

1. ¼ Mile Time and Speed
2. 800 meter Top End Run (Single Runs)
3. 1000 meter Top end Run (Single Runs)
4. Gymkhana – beat the clock

Surely the fastest car will not win this crown. This will be for fast cars, cars that handles, and most important about a skilful driver. It can be run on a point system similar to Golf. The least points will be the winner.

I was thinking of an overall winners cheque of R7 000.00.
Also R 1000.00 for quickest ¼ mile
Also R 1000.00 for highest exit speed on 800 meter
Also R 1000.00 for highest exit speed on 800 meter
Also R 1000.00 for fastest Gymkhana, and it will be portion dry, portion wet
Also R 1000.00 FOR THE WINNING CLUB
Also Show and Shine Competition – R 1000.00
Also Dyno – R 1000.00
Bikini car Wash – ODI’s heat is excellent for this – Best looking car washer wins a weekend away with me!

• Only pre-entries will be allowed
• One set of tyres for the entire event
• Can be a 2 day event with sleepover in the Wild. ODI now has shower facilities as well in the new Toilet block.
• Cars must be roadworthy and will be scuteneered at Marula Sun Casino
• All vehicles will be driven for +- 18 kilometers to the track
• Entry fee will be R250.00 PER COMPETTATOR

LET’S GET YOUR FEEL ON THIS ONE – TO COVER COSTS WE NEED TO HAVE A MINIMUM OF 100 ENTRIES
10 clubs with 10 entries from each! – This is easy
