3uz rods...forged?

read an article recently that said the 3uz has forged rods and crank but cast pistons. can’t find anymore info on this, anyone know?

correction, says forged rods but says nothing about forged vs cast pistons

always thought only the crank was forged

I think that article is incorrect, but will verify later. Toyota/Lexus have always used powder forged rods in their engines, and the pistons are the hypereutectic variety.
