Stronger / bigger head and main studs than ARP

My first HG failure was at 21.75Psi (1.5 bar) too with 10mm ARP studs. In my opinion these 10mm ARP studs are okay for a safe tune and conservative boost level. But it's on a knife edge build. A little bit too much cylinder pressure, and the heads are lifting and burned HG are the result. Look...

Stronger / bigger head and main studs than ARP

It would be very interesting which fasteners he use in this race engines. Maybe he used some ARP L19 custom studs. And 1400 HP from 24 PSI on a 4 liter engine is awesome. Respect to his head work. Cam specs, head porting, intake Turbos etc would be interesting too.

Stronger / bigger head and main studs than ARP

Hey John! Nice to hear from you! Yes you are right, this monster is so much fun to drive. I had a smile on my face every time I pushed the throttle down. Hahaaaa. And I'm very sad the HG failed again. I hope we are on the right way to make some big numbers with other head studs now. Do you...

Stronger / bigger head and main studs than ARP

Hey guys! Some of you know my 1UZ twin turbo Supra MK3 build a few years ago. Now I'm searching for some stronger head studs. But a little story advanced... I upgraded the mains with ARP studs and the head studs was 10mm ARP in the first build, too. After a head gasket problem (Cometic...

Oh, great numbers with only 16psi! That's awesome! Which cams do you have? Ok. Good idea to split the intercooler. I know that radiator problem and fixed it with the hydraulic fan. But your idea is a lot better if you have enough room for a side mount setup.

What's the main reason why you change the intercooler setup? Water temp issues?

Man, I love this monster! Absolutely great work! I'm happy to see some more pictures and results... Is there a big difference in IAT between the old intercooler setup vs the new side mounts? How much Boost do you running? 26.8 psi at the Dyno, right?

Hm, I think the T56 is a good&strong transmission? Maybe you need this mod, to be sure there is oil on the input and counter shaft every time. I killed my R154 input shaft gear and counter shaft too. In my opinion it's caused of low oil level in the front of the transmission...

Oh man... Your project is so f...ing awesome!! I love this custom build up. I know it from my own project, it takes so much time and hard work to realize your ideas. Enjoy it and have a lot of fun with you amazing car! BTW, what is your experience with the T56 Magnum? I'm planning to buy it...

V8 Supra MK3 1UZ Twin Turbo from Germany - Part II

I've done a little bit research a few month ago, and if I'm right, the T56 Magnum shifter position should be approximately in the same place as the R154. But the overall length is a lot more. What I found on YouTube is very interesting.. Check out this mod on a T56, which you can copy for...

That's cool, Justen! My buddy Jürgen has some racing parts from a race team too. I just tested a LSD Diff from him with stronger output shafts. Maybe he has another ring and pinion. Do you know the number of teeth of your ring and pinion? Alex

V8 Supra MK3 1UZ Twin Turbo from Germany - Part II

:pYes Justen, the fifth gear of the R154 is weak... Obviously... ;) If I'm right, the Magnum has approximately the same ratio, than the R154 with an extra six gear. So it would be perfect with the stock Supra diff (3.72:1) Your diff ratio is interesting, Justen. What diff is it? Stock? A...

V8 Supra MK3 1UZ Twin Turbo from Germany - Part II

It happened @ 1.35bar of boost, about 4500-5000rpm, WOT and in fifth gear. The engine should make about low 9xxNm at this boost level. I have Toyo R888 semi slicks, and yes they are very grippy.:D I already tested 1.5 to 1.7bar peak boost, but in 2nd and 3rd gear. I think the time is too...
